Due to present regulations of the Federal Republic of Germany and the state of North Rhine-Westphalia for containing the Corona pandemic, Zollverein UNESCO World Heritage Site will remain closed as a place of culture and leisure during the whole month of January. This refers to the Ruhr Museum in the Coal Washery as well as to its branches, to the Ruhr.Vistorcenter and to the Red Dot Design Museum. Also guided tours at the Zollverein Coal Mine and Cokery are cancelled.
All restaurants and café on the site will stay closed during the month of Januar. Reopening will depend on and happen in accordance with the Corona protection ordinance of the state of NRW.
In the upcoming days, the Zollverein Foundation will decide, which of the events planned for 2021 can take place under the given circumstances and inform visitors accordingly. We already know that the JazzNight on 6th February, 2021 with Wolfgang Haffner will not take place. We are presently trying to find a new date for this concert.
The open spaces of the World Heritage Site as well as the Zollverein Park will remain accessible also in December. All guests are kindly asked to comply with the present hygiene and distance rules.
