The stories of the sculptures in the outdoor space, the sounds of old machines and the voices of today’s Zollverein workers create a soundscape that encourages visitors to perceive the UNESCO World Heritage Site in a completely different way.

The audio walk was developed by the artist duo Nadelør for the UNESCO World Heritage Site Zollverein as an independent and site-specific audio piece and is available in German and English.

How do I start?

To use the audio walk, you need your own smartphone and the Echoes app or the Zollverein app. This is compatible with iPhone 6S or Android 6 and above. To save data volume, it is best to download the apps and the audio walk at home.

The walk can be done at any time. The starting point is at the Ehrenhof, and the duration is individual. Please bring headphones with you to enjoy the sound walk to the fullest.
